Hi,

I'm thinking to build my trex600 on 12 cells.

Now I use 6 cell 5200mAh ( 2 packs from 2600 )

Can I use the 2 packs as 12 cell 2600 mAh or do I need more mAh for the trex 600

I use the Hyperion G3 35C cells

I think that with 2600mah you wouldn't have fun because of the flighttime !!!
Maybe 3 minutes !!!

Why should that be happening?
The only thing, that counts is the amount of energy, the bird carries.

The important thing is to adapt the the drive compnents. With 12s you need a JIVE HV ESC an a motor around 500 KV. Having less current suggests less losses and by that more flighttime.

just my two pennies.

Talking about the energy you carry around:

Original: 6s *3.7V * 5000 mAh = 111 Wh
Your proposal: 12s * 3.7V * 2600 mAh = 115.44 Wh

Or in simple terms: you want to carry twice the number of cells with each a bit more than half the capacity -> you are slightly better off regarding the energy you carry around. But make sure to choose the appropriate motor to have all you electronics work in an efficient regime.

If you fly with low RPMs (maybe flybarless) you could be okay re: flight time. If not I would rather set the bird up for 10s and use around 3500-4000 Ah. If the cells are not too heavy you can put all 10 of them to the front and center of gravity will be just right.

Cheers,

Chris

center of gravity will be just right because I use the same cells and now it is spot on.

just connect the cells now serial and not parralel

I just worry about the flytime.

I hope to get 4.5 to 5 min of flytime with the Jive80HV and the scorpion 4025-630 KV
