Take off into new worlds of versatility, flexibility, and flight performance: Introducing OMPHOBBY M5 and M6! Closing the gap between M4 MAX and M7, we’re beyond thrilled to announce our latest line of helicopters. Built for everything from low RPM cruising and scale flying, to relentless hardcore 3D, M5 and M6 are ready for anything and everything. With a shared parts count of over 90% between them, these two helicopters are the most versatile and adaptable airframes we have ever built!
M5 is designed for up to 580 mm main rotor blades, on 6S - 8S power systems.
M6 is designed for up to 610 mm main rotor blades, on 10S - 12S power systems.
M5 and M6 combine the best attributes of M4 and M7 into one attractive package. An elegant, open frame design, carried by a sturdy main plate with a compact and efficient servo rack design, combines easy maintenance and wiring. This is completed by an unbelievably stiff, layered carbon frame with beautifully chamfered edges on the lower panel. M5 is designed for modern 15 mm servos, while M6 is designed for 20 mm servos all around. If desired, M5 can be crossgraded to 20 mm servos using M6 parts. Integrated wiring guides make routing your wires a breeze!
The main rotor design found on these two helicopters is a direct derivative of the M7 rotor design. Long control throws, integrated and retained rotor blade washers, extremely durable and beefy 5mm ball joints, and two damping options, are all part of a large diameter rotor head mounted on a 12 mm shaft. Combined, these attributes provide unparalleled precision and control that make M5 and M6 fly every bit as amazing and rock solid as M7, while being incredibly agile in the air!
For anti-torque and yaw control, M5 and M6 inherit the same style of one-piece tail rotor housing, slop-free bell crank mechanism and extremely robust tail rotor design used on M7, downsized to fit an ultralight 28 mm carbon fiber tail boom, while retaining the same 6 mm tail shaft and 5 mm spindle shaft diameters. The 6 mm wide tail drive belt can conveniently be adjusted on-the-fly, using the same helically driven belt tensioner system found on M7.
With a wide range of pinions ranging from 11 to 15 teeth, and two incredibly durable, 15 mm tall, FEA optimized main gear options (M5: 115t; M6: 121t), you are guaranteed to find the perfect gear ratio for your personal setup. The motor mount now sits on rails on the main plate, both increasing rigidity of the assembly and guaranteeing parallel shafts every time. The airframe can accept any battery configuration into a spacious 58 x 70 x 300 mm battery bay. Since both M5 and M6 use the same basic frame structure, M5 battery trays fit M6 without modification, and vice versa, and both are latched by the same, convenient twist-lock system derived from M7.
Rounding off these incredible new helicopters, we are introducing four new stunning color schemes: Cosmic Orange, Solar Yellow, Aurora Green, and Nebula Pink! The former two follow our traditional coloring approach, updated with elegant black lines between the colored surfaces for a sleek, new look. The latter two feature an all-new inverted color scheme with a striking, white windshield, brightly colored neon accents and blacked-out branding elements. All four colors are available for both M5 and M6!
M5 kits will be available this weekend at ROTOR Live 2025, M5 and M6 will be available at dealers worldwide within the next two weeks.

                      So viele Fragen 🙃
